80th ANNIVERSARY EVENT

On July 16, 2022, the Japanese-Canadian Internment Reunion Concert was held to remember the internment of Japanese-Canadians interned in Greenwood 80 years ago.

Over 300 people from as far as Boston, Ventura, Carlton Place and Smithers attended at McArthur Centre, formally Gulley Block or #3 Building to the Japanese Canadians. As Chuck Tasaka, the organizer of this event, wrote, “It was a great success! People reconnecting, shaking hands, many hugs and smiles. The ambiance was of camaraderie and friendship.”
